About the earth

The earth is the home of all living things. In fact, it is the only planet in the solar system that can support life. This is so because it has air and water.

Earth's Surface

71% of the earth's surface is covered with water and the rest is land . This is the reason why the earth looks like blue from space. Hence , it is called "Blue planet" . The large water bodies are called Oceans and Continents. In all, there are five oceans and seven continents.
The five main oceans are the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Arctic ocean, and the Southern ocean.
The Pacific Ocean is the largest and the Arctic is the smallest ocean. The Pacific Ocean is larger than all of the earth's land area combined.
The seven continents are Asia, Africa, Australia ,Antarctica, Europe, North America and south America.
Of these , Asia is the largest and Australia is the smallest continent.
