Graphical Representation Of A Linear Equation
-
ax + by + c = 0 is always a straight line.
- Rewrite the given equation with y as the subject i. e. y = -(c+ax)/b
- Select three suitable values (integral as far as possible) of x and find the value of y corresponding to each such value of x
- Make the table of the ordered pairs (x, y)
- Draw X-and Y-axes on the graph paper (possibly equal)
- Plot the three on the graph paper
- Join any two points by a straight line. To check the correctness of the graph, see that the third point lies on this line.
