Type of magnetic substances
- Di-magnetic substance
The substance which does not interact with magnetic field is known as diamagnetic substance. e.g. Nacl, C6H6, etc.
- Paramagnetic substance
Those substances which have a permanent magnetic dipole and strongly attracted in magnetic field are known as paramagnetic substances. e.g. CuO, TiO, etc.
- Ferro-magnetic substance
The substance which are strongly attracted by the magnetic field and shows permanent magnetism even when external magnetic field is removed are known as ferromagnetic substance. e.g. Co, Ni, CrO2, etc.
- Anti-ferromagnetic substance
If The alignment of magnetic movement is compensatiory so it gives zero magnetic movement viz magnetic movement of one domain is neutralized by other. e.g. MnO, V2O3Fe2O3, etc.
- Ferrimagnetic substance
when magnetic movement are aligned in parallel and anti-parallel direction with unequal direction and net magnetic movement is not equal to zero.
